Automatic SMS debt reminders for your customers from 4546

Calling every customer to remind them a payment is due is awkward, and it is easy to forget. pDaftar takes it off your plate: an SMS goes out the moment a debt is recorded, when a payment is received and on the due date. All you do is set the schedule once.

When your customer gets an SMS

Automatic SMS go out in three main situations. When a debt is recorded, the customer receives the amount, your shop name and phone number. When a payment is received, they get the amount paid and the remaining balance. When the due date arrives, a reminder is sent in the morning at 09:00. Every message comes from short number 4546, so the customer does not mistake it for spam from an unknown number and delete it.

On top of that, you can remind the customer a few days before the due date and again after it has passed. Both options are switched on separately in the settings. That way the customer hears about the debt not once, but on the days you choose.

  • When a debt is recorded — with the amount and shop details
  • When a payment is received — with the amount paid and the balance
  • Before the due date, on the due date and after it — on your schedule

Setting the reminder schedule

The schedule lives on the “SMS settings” screen in your shop settings, in the “Debt reminders” section. Here you set how many days before the due date an SMS goes out, whether one is sent on the due date itself, and how many days after the due date reminders keep going. “SMS send time” is 09:00 by default; pick a different hour if you prefer.

From the day reminders stop, the debt is marked “Overdue”. That lets you spot at a glance which customers need a personal conversation. Settings are saved per shop, and only the shop owner can change them.

Turning SMS off for one customer

Some customers do not want texts, or their number no longer works. In the customer card settings you switch off SMS notifications for that one customer, and everyone else keeps receiving messages as usual. You can also pause SMS for the whole shop with a single toggle; in that case the stock-in and payment messages that go to suppliers are managed separately.

Suppliers have their own setting: “SMS the supplier on receipts and payments”. When it is on, a message goes to the supplier’s number whenever you record received goods (kirim) or a payment to them (chiqim). It does not depend on the customer SMS setting — you control the two independently.

SMS limit and wallet

The free plan includes 25 SMS; unused ones do not carry over to the next month, and paid plans have a bigger limit. If the limit runs out and wallet auto-charge is enabled in the settings, reminders do not stop — each SMS is paid from your wallet balance. How many SMS you have left is shown in the “Billing and limit” section. Full details on plans and limits are on the pricing page.

One long message may be counted by the carrier as two or three SMS. Keep your template text short; the app shows how many SMS a text will use while you type.

Mobile app and web version

Reminders are scheduled on the server, so it makes no difference whether you record the debt from your phone or from the web version — the SMS goes out either way. The history and status of sent messages (sent, delivered, failed) is visible in both places.

Installment (pay-in-parts) reminders work the same way: on each payment day the customer gets an SMS at 09:00 in the morning. The SMS history in the customer card shows which message was sent when and why — if there is ever a dispute, the proof is right there.

How to use it

  1. Open the “SMS settings” screen in your shop settings.
  2. In the “Debt reminders” section, turn on reminders before, on and after the due date, and enter the number of days.
  3. Check “SMS send time” — 09:00 by default — and tap “Save reminders”.
  4. When you record a debt, enter the payment due date: reminders are scheduled from that date.
  5. Track the status of sent SMS on the “SMS mailings” screen, in the “History” tab.
